4 Steps To Create A CEO Mindset

4 Steps To Create A CEO Mindset

We all know the importance of mindset when you are a business owner and an entrepreneur. The key to success is partially in the mindset work that you do, but super success is linked to your ability to really step into the CEO, into the leader in your business to take it to where you want to go. Without a CEO mindset, the one where you step into the leader and LEAD the business, you’ll stay stuck.

So here are my 4 tips to create a CEO Mindset…..

Step #1 – Make the decision to become the CEO

You need to consciously say to yourself, right enough dicking about and playing small.  It’s time to step up and step into the role of the leader in the business. To do this, you need to start acting like a 6 or 7 figure business owner and ask yourself everyday “what would a 6 figure business owner do?”. Own it. Embody the person you aspire to be and start making decisions and taking action from a place of, if I were already a 6 figure business owner what would I be doing right now?

Step #2 – Remember the 80/20 Rule

Do you know about Pareto’s principle? The concept is such that for example, 20% of customers generate 80% of the revenue. The point is that you have the option to focus just on the 20% that is going to get you results, so really you need to stop wasting your time being busy for busy sake and focus on being more productive. Focus on the income generating activities, not email or trying to multitask or spending an hour scrolling through your FB news feed. It Isn’t going to get you the results you want, but working out exactly where the sweet spot is, where you need to be investing most of your time, that will. Focus, focus, focus.

Step #3 – Systems and Automation are your new BFF

To help you maximise your time and energy, you should start placing a big emphasis on your business systems and automating wherever possible. Take your most popular selling content and turn it into an evergreen funnel that will make you money whilst you sleep. Automate your website backups. Stop sending invoices to your clients and waiting for bank transfers, start taking credit card payments for instant payment. Plan out and schedule your social media in advance, heck, plan it out and write it and hire a VA to schedule it all for you. It will be more cost effective for them to spend a couple of hours at £35 an hour, rather that you spending a couple of hours at £100 an hour!! Spend the time doing a FB, writing a blog post and creating more epic value filled content for your tribe.

Step #4 – Let Go God Damn It!!!

Stop thinking that you are the only person that can do EVERYTHING in your business and no-one can do it as well as you, because they can and you might even find someone who does it better than you. You also need to stop thinking everything needs to be perfect. You don’t need a sales page to sell a product, you don’t even need a website, it helps don’t get me wrong as it builds social proof and visibility, but it isn’t an absolute MUST. Don’t waste hours on create a sales page or a sales funnel. Get help to do it, spend your time being creative, building the know, like, trust factor and doing the one thing ONLY YOU can do, get transformational results for your clients!!

That’s it, it really is that simple (or not as the case maybe for some of you). As a recovering perfectionist myself, I know how hard it is to let go in particular, but finally after a few years I am starting to see that done is better than perfect. You don’t need to have all your ducks in a row to sell a new service, package or programme. As long as you have a way to take payment, then you are good to go. People buy people, they buy into your energy. Remember that.

Now go and start taking action to be the boss in your business. If you need someone to run ideas past, talk through tech, tools and systems or have no idea where to start with systemising and automating parts of your business, get in touch. Without An Assistant You Are The Assistant

Without An Assistant You Are The Assistant

If your goal for this year is to hit 6 figures in your business or to move towards multiple 6 figures or perhaps even more, you need to realise that by continuing to play solo, without an assistant or virtual team, you are making it harder than you need to.

Working with team, you’ll get faster results then if you continue doing it all yourself, or with a solo virtual assistant who you think is a superhero and can do everything as well. You are selling yourself short and it’s time to stop.

Be the person who already earns 6 or 7 figures

One of my coaches always says to me, what would you be, do and say if you were already the 6 or 7 figure business owner you are striving to be? How would you act? How would you show up everyday? The answer to that question in its simplest form is, by being the boss. Taking control, building a team, focusing on generating income, bringing in new clients, strategising and creating killer content that adds tons of value.

But I bet that at the moment you aren’t focusing enough on your business. Instead I suspect you are probably wasting your valuable time entering expenses, scheduling social media posts, getting sucked into Facebook rather than being strategic.  Really you should be taking action that is going to render massive results. Let’s go back to that question – what would a 6 or 7 figure business owner be doing?

I know what I would rather be spending my time doing. Because my zone of genius sure as hell isn’t scheduling social media or inputting expenses. Mine is working with my clients, helping them to move their business forwards and managing a team for them that makes an impact. Building a business that runs like clock work in the backround, giving them the time to focus on their zone of genius, whether that’s coaching clients, speaking at events or writing another book.

Without An Assistant You Are The Assistant

If you are willing to invest 4 or 5 figures in a coach, then you also need to get serious and invest in a team. A coach is useless to you, unless you have the right support network to actually make all the ideas come to fruition. A good coach will tell you that the first thing you need to do is stop doing all the things and start delegating.

The problem is that the fear of someone not doing as good of a job as you is what stops us. Not knowing where to start or what to let go of first. And let’s face it, its hard to let go. Its your baby, you’ve nurtured it, grown it, invested huge sums of blood, sweat and probably tears along with money to get it to where it is. But you need to move over, without an assistant you are the assistant.

Think about that for a minute.

The sooner you realise this, the sooner you take action, the sooner the added pressure of having other people you are responsible for will push you to the next level. And the amazing and incredible thing about this realisation is this, you’ll have more time. More time to do what you love and by doing what you love you will naturally attract more clients and more opportunities into your life.

Surround Yourself With An Experienced Team to Grow

But how the hell do you start and where do you find a VA? If you’ve already worked your arse off to get to where you are, your best bet is to hire an experienced VA. One that can implement the systems, processes, procedures that you need. One that can create the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for you. One that has the technical knowledge of the tools required to run a successful online business. Once you find that person, you need to step into the CEO shoes and look to take someone on as your COO, someone who can run the operations, manage a team, who gets you, your business, your vision and can make sure everything just happens. A Business Manager, who can make sure shit gets done without you worrying. You just need to focus on the bigger picture and serving your clients. Then you’ll see results, pretty much instantly.

Why You Need To Hire An Experienced VA

Why You Need To Hire An Experienced VA

I often hear aspiring coaches and entrepreneurs who are trying to build a 6 figure business say that I need to get to x point in my business or that I need to be earning x amount per month to be able to afford a virtual assistant.

Those that want to hire a VA are often looking for an assistant that charges just $10 an hour or only want support for a few hours a month.

Here’s the thing right, you won’t be able to grow to the point in your head WITHOUT a virtual assistant, because you can’t be everything and do all the things and deliver value to your clients and grow your bottom line month on month. It is not possible to do it all.

Without a virtual assistant to help and support you, you are no more than the assistant in your business. You are not a business owner or an entrepreneur, and not outsourcing or hiring a team can actually stifle the growth of the business.

So we’ve established you need a VA to get ahead, but you don’t just need a VA. You need a highly skilled and experienced VA who gets you and your business. Who cares about your business and your success almost as much as you do (I say almost, because you won’t ever find anyone that cares as much as you, it is your baby after all). One that needs very little hand holding, who can tell you what to delegate and what you should be focusing on. One that will challenge you and make you question – should I really be doing this? Once you find that VA, you need them to be working a minimum of 10 hours A WEEK, ideally 20 hours a week. That’s where the magic happens, that’s where they start to really positively impact your business and your bottom line.

Big Picture and Leadership

The right virtual assistant will save you time so you can focus on the big picture and being a leader. Being creative, creating new courses and valuable content for your clients and tribe. Looking for other opportunities to diversify or grow an additional revenue stream.

Better Communication

You’ll no longer be bogged down by email and managing your inbox with an experienced virtual assistant by your side. Your clients will receive fast responses, prospects will receive a first class experience and your team members will feel less frustrated because they will be receiving timely feedback from you.

More Focus and Less Distractions

You can spend less time hanging out on social media and getting distracted by all the noise, instead using the time online with purpose and passion to attract new clients, grow your visibility and your brand and add a ton of value.

Put Your Life First and Your Business Second

With the massive to-do list of tasks you really shouldn’t be doing, being handled by a pro, you’ll have a better work life balance. You’ll actually be able to put your life first and your business second. Taking a holiday, travelling, experiencing the digital nomad lifestyle you dreamed of when you started your business. You’ll have a great deal more time to spend with your loved ones without worrying about your business grinding to a halt.

Sometimes you need to take that leap of faith before you are ready. Before you have your ducks in a row. Before you are earning a certain income in your business. It’s about making an investment, an investment in yourself, your business and your future. It’s as scary as hell, but if you dive in and make a commitment and have someone else’s wages to pay, I bet you find the passion, the drive and the determination to make it work. Funny how that extra bit of pressure is sometimes what we need to take us to the next level.

Who Can Use a Virtual Assistant? – Part 1

Who Can Use a Virtual Assistant? – Part 1

The virtual assistant industry is a growing industry and how we work is changing and evolving. In this two part series, I’d like to give you an idea of the types of people using virtual assistants, because they are not just for entrepreneurs, anyone can use a virtual assistant, business owner or not.

Whether you are an employee, self-employed, running a small business, a large business, or even someone that is retired. A virtual assistant can help you with your personal and private life tasks, such as booking your holiday, buying gifts, arranging dry cleaning (let’s call them lifestyle management tasks) as well as your business related tasks. The key is finding the right virtual assistant, one that has the experience you need to help you.

The Employee

You might be a high flying executive or a social butterfly, who never has enough time to get everything done that you need to on a daily basis. Hiring a virtual assistant to help you with tasks outside of work, such as researching and booking your next holiday, sourcing gifts for friends and family, arranging decorators or even builders to finally start the renovations on your home. Perhaps you also need help with sorting out your personal paperwork? A virtual assistant can help you to regain control and enjoy more time to either work harder or play harder.

The Small Business Owner

As the owner of a small business with staff, a virtual assistant can help you to grow your business. It isn’t possible to keep doing everything in your business, you need to accept that there comes a point where you need to let go in order to grow.

Finding the right virtual assistant, can in the long term result in actually hiring someone who turns out to become more of a business partner. Someone who has a deep understanding of your business and your big goals, some who keeps up to date with the constant and evolving online world, giving you a competitive edge.

Using a virtual assistant, or even building a team of virtual assistants, with the right skill sets for your business, can help you to spend more time working on your business rather than in your business knowing that the day to day operations are in a safe pair of hands.

The Corporation

The corporate environment is changing and evolving.  Working remotely from home and virtually with teams based all around the world are fast becoming more accepted in the workplace, mainly thanks to technology, which has broadened our means of communication and made life so much easier.

Even larger businesses could benefit from hiring VAs. They could be the perfect solution to cover holiday, sick or even maternity leave.  It may be the perfect solution to help out with excess workload especially if your business is very cyclical or project based, where you have a greater need for additional staff at certain times of the year.

Do you fall into one of these categories? Are you currently using a virtual assistant in your business? Perhaps you are considering hiring your first VA? I’d love to hear your thoughts, please leave a comment below.
